“It’s a system of bureaucratic central economic planning, which is a fallacy that is deeply flawed,” Paul told “Fox News Sunday.” FEMA “has one of the worst reputations for a bureaucracy ever.”The Texas congressman acknowledged that FEMA could not be disbanded without a legitimate replacement, but he maintained that the organization, as it operates today, is wasteful. He alleged that it funnels money to contractors rather than to victims of natural disasters.
Paul insisted he would vote against the appropriation of any additional emergency funding to FEMA.
