Coulter: Power-Hungry Democrats a Threat to America

Best-selling author Ann Coulter is renewing her attack on liberals with a new book, focusing this time on what she assails as the “mob behavior” of the American left — and she tells Newsmax that “Democrats are the party of the mob.”

In “Demonic: How the Liberal Mob is Endangering America,” the conservative political commentator argues that “Democrats seek power, which is why they will always be found championing the mob.”

In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, Coulter declares: “The most striking aspect of liberal behavior that is stunningly a part of mob mentality is their creation of messiahs and their tendency to demonize all those that disagree with them.”

She cites President Barack Obama as the latest liberal messiah. Asked whether he has lived up to those expectations, Coulter responds: “The point is no one can live up to the expectations. Conservatives are never disappointed in their leaders because they don’t expect much from them.

“When Reagan was president, he wasn’t even the most popular conservative in the country. I cite a poll. He was number three. Jerry Falwell was number one, William F. Buckley was number two. Reagan was number three. That’s not exactly the mob’s worship of a messiah.

“The new right, as conservatives were called back then, were constantly at odds with Ronald Reagan, were constantly criticizing what he was doing. You do not get that from the left with Obama. No, they are 100 percent in with their guys.

“I think conservatives only liked Bush about 60, 70 percent of the time. With liberals, it’s 100 percent in and 100 percent hatred for anyone they dislike.

“It’s very different, the two political parties, and you can only understand it if you realize that Democrats are the party of the mob.”

Coulter, whose seven best-sellers include “Godless: The Church of Liberalism,” tells Newsmax that Democrats appealed to white racist voters to win elections until blacks had enough votes to counterbalance them, and then “overnight the Democratic Party just switches, rewrites the history of the civil rights movement. They pretend now to be the champions – no, they’re just championing a different mob now. They’ve gone from the party of George Wallace to the party of Al Sharpton.”

In “Demonic,” Coulter compares the American Revolution and the French Revolution, which she says are often “thrown in the same pot” by liberals.

“These are two completely opposite revolutions,” she says.

“It was the French Revolution that inspired various mob movements, from Nazi Germany to the Soviet Union and now Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro. Our successful revolution actually got rid of a king and created a democracy.

“Conservatives are the party of the American Revolution. Liberals are the party of the French Revolution.”
